One of the most waterwise Dianthus, pinifolius forms compact cushions that feature narrow, needle like blue- green leaves. In late spring, tall stems shoot up with dense spherical like heads of dark ruby red flowers.
This rare and unusual dryland Pink comes from the Balkan Peninsula, and Turkey, and is found on cliffs and rocky ridges, making it suitable for rock and scree gardens, container gardens, Mediterranean & Cottage style gardens and Xeriscaping.
