Partridge Feather was introduced to North America from Southeastern Turkey and has become indispensable for xeriscape gardens.
Plush silver mats of gorgeous feathery foliage give way to golden yellow button flowers that bloom in summer. A real survivor in hot, dry sites with good drainage. It will spread modestly through the years.
It does best when mulched with gravel, pine needles or other fast drying material to protect its woolly foliage from the wet ground during the winter and spring months. The plant is evergreen and shouldn't be cut back in the spring. In late fall, rake off brown tree leaves and other fall debris to keep plants clean and foliage healthy over the winter.
