Aster conspicuus/ Showy Aster

This plant will live up to its name and attract your attention with its size, larger leaves and bright showy bluey hued blooms. Showy Asters would work well in big open spaces or for a backdrop in the perennial border. Beloved by all kinds of wildlife and pollinators. This aster is native to western Canada including the Okanagan. In fact, because of the rattling noise made by the leaves in the fall, the Okanagan name for this plant means 'rattling noise' or 'shuffling noise'.
